Dr. Macadam to serve as President of the Group for Advancement of Microsurgery

This year marked the 69th Annual Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons (CSPS) Meeting, and the 5-day meeting took place at the Empress Hotel in Victoria, BC. The event included scientific talks on the most recent advances in plastic surgery in Canada. This year, Dr. Macadam was nominated as President of the ‘Group for Advancement of Microsurgery (GAM) in Canada’. She was in charge of planning and running the scientific sessions on Wednesday, June 3rd, which included papers on research within the field of microsurgery.

Dr. Macadam will serve as President of the GAM group within the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons for the next two years. This year she invited renowned surgeon Dr. Charles Butler, from MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas, to be the keynote speaker. He spoke to the attendees about microsurgical reconstruction of the chest and abdomen, as well as other complex reconstructive cases; his talks were inspiring and well-received by all.

Dr. Macadam looks forward to her presidential role for the next two years, and is excited to work towards enhancing and expanding the field of microsurgery for residents and surgeons within Canada.
