Congratulations to our resident surgeons

We are excited to announce that after many years of tremendous hard work, long hours, and dedication, two of our senior Plastic Surgery Residents have graduated!

Dr. Macadam is pleased to have had the chance to train and mentor these two talented and intelligent female physicians. Both Adelyn and Sheena had the opportunity to shadow and work with Dr. Macadam over the past 5 years, during office consultations with patients and assisting in the operating room. These opportunities for residents to train with attending surgeons (such as Dr. Macadam) are exceedingly important, and benefit both the mentor and mentee. The residents gain invaluable hands-on experience, where they can master their surgical techniques and engage in patient care, while the attending surgeon gets the chance to pass on their knowledge to the next generation of budding physicians.

The road to become a certified plastic surgeon is a long but rewarding one - 4 years to complete an undergraduate degree, 4 years of medical school, followed by 5 years of surgical residency, and, typically, an additional year of sub-specialized fellowship training. Dr. Macadam sub-specialized in breast and microsurgery.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Adelyn Ho and Dr. Sheena Sikora! The field of plastic surgery is lucky to gain the skilled hands and strong minds of these two capable young women.
